Cheryl Tubb, Treasurer
I have been volunteering with EDCHS since 2009 starting out fostering kittens, then moving onto cat room clean up, volunteer coordinator and Treasurer. I believe El Dorado County has the potential to be a leader in showing compassionate caring for the animals, wild and domestic, with whom we share this unique area of California. We have work to do -- to make that happen, and it is my hope that our organization will strive to insure that it will.
Pet(s): Bengal mix named Gigi, Black Short-Hair named Tyra, both 20+ years, Diluted Torti named Recess, 16+ years old, Mandy a 10 year old Torti and my foster Frankie.
Most unique Pet: Buff Cochin Bantam Chickens.

Sophie Cabrera, Secretary
Growing up in the country outside of the central valley town of Reedley, California, I became all too familiar with the cruel practice of dumping cats and dogs in the country to fend for themselves. Those that found their way to our porch were taken in and we worked to find homes for them. Quite a few stayed with us. I don't think we had a pet that wasn't rescued from the fields. I am excited to join the El Dorado County Humane Society and do what I can to improve the lives of the animals in our county.
I am currently retired from the State of California and live with my husband in Placerville.
Pet(s): a dog and a cat
Most Unique Pet: A "homing" pigeon that flew into our yard and never went home. We built
an aviary for one bird.
Hobbies: Skiing, Reading and Cooking
Fun Fact: I love to cook and will have "iron chef" challenges with my brother.
